Introduction
Some dog ramps can be pretty cumbersome and if you’ve only got a small breed then there’s really no need for this overkill. But the good news is that there are tons of small dog ramps that are ideal for everything from chihuahuas and pugs to King Charles spaniels and Yorkshire terriers and everything in between.
Not only do these ramps have suitable weight capacities for smaller dogs, but the size is also fitting with the breed. There’s no need for a massive ramp when your dog is tiny as all this will do is take up unnecessary space in the home.
What’s also great about small dog ramps is that they’re much easier to store. If space is an issue, then these ramps, many of which fold down to a compact size, can be slotted discreetly away when not in use.
But once you’ve seen the benefits of a ramp for your small dog, you’ll wonder how you ever got by without one. They can be used to help your pet onto the furniture, aid them in getting up steps and there are even small pet ramps for the car; they’re so versatile.

1. BALLSHOP Wooden Pet Ramp
Having a smaller breed of dog, I have often found that some of the bigger ramps are too cumbersome and bulky. So, when I found the BALLSHOP wooden pet ramp, I was keen to give it a go with my Maltese, Lilly.
As you’ll see in my video, this is an incredibly sturdy dog ramp and what’s surprising is that you get the robust design for one of the lowest prices on the market. Being made from wood, I think that this is a great ramp if you want something aesthetically pleasing.
There were plenty of things that Lilly and I enjoyed about the BALLSHOP wooden pet ramp. However, there are a couple of downsides such as the non-slip surface not being a non-slip as one might have hoped. I’ll uncover more in my BALLSHOP wooden pet ramp review so let’s not waste
- 🐕[Durable material]- The ramp for dogs is made of solid wood and can easily bear the weight of large dogs. It can reach 150 kg after testing, and it has been finely processed so that there will be no debris or snags.
- 🐕[Non-slip surface]- Dog ramp for the bed is decorated with ribbed carpet so that your pet can easily go up and down without slipping. It is very suitable for older dogs and dogs with limited mobility, as well as our younger friends!
- 🐕[Two height adjustments]- The height can be easily changed from folded flat to 30 cm or 40 cm, which is very suitable for sofas, beds, chairs, or cars. Folds flat and can slide under the sofa
- 🐕[Completely assembled]- Just take it out of the package to start using, no assembly is required
- 🐕[Note]- Please measure the size before buying (L27.59 x W13.78x H11.8IN/L70 x W35 x H30CM), dog ramps suitable for small and medium-sized dogs, such as German Shepherd Dachshund rabbit.

2. ZNM Dog Pet Steps
No products found. If you have a pup that’s finding it difficult to get onto the sofa, bed or any other surface then dog steps can be a worthwhile investment. My dog, Lilly, struggles because of her poor vision so I thought I’d give the ZNM (Zvonema) dog steps a try and I was pleasantly surprised with what I got.
The ZNM dog steps feature a lightweight yet sturdy foam inner and a durable, machine washable cover for practical and convenient use. They’re non-slip and provide easy access to surfaces for older dogs or those with short legs.
With longer steps and a gentler slope, Lilly and I found these to be super easy to use as you can see from my YouTube video. But even so, there are some things I’d urge you to consider before making a decision on whether these are the right steps for your pooch.

3. Trixie Pet Ramp
Finding a pet ramp that’s easy to use and convenient can be tricky. I’ve seen some that require two people to take the ramp up and down which is hardly ideal. This is why I was keen to try the Trixie pet ramp as I’d heard reports that it was one of the easier to put up by yourself.
But this wasn’t the only good thing I’d heard about this pet ramp, so I wanted to put it to the test with my dog Lilly. She’s getting old now and finds it hard to get in and out of the car, especially with her poor eyesight. So, we gave this product a try and I’ve included all the most relevant information in my Trixie pet ramp review.
The great advantage of this pet ramp from Trixie is the fact the height of the ramp can be adjusted to 29cm, 36cm or 43cm, very practical! The white wood construction means this ramp is stable, is easy to clean and looks great with any decor.
- MDF, varnished, felt non-slip rubber coating for indoors, e.g. as climbing aid for bed or sofa adjustable to three heights (29/36/43 cm)
- Protects the joints of the pet highly recommendable in cases of arthrosis and arthritis
- Can also be used for preventative measures foldable, space-saving storage
- Model number: T39375
- The furniture ramp can be adjusted to the height of the furniture in three stages (29/36/43 cm)
