The Camera:
No products found.Indeed, both generations of the Furbo Pet Camera incorporate a wide-angle lens, delivering a generous field of view. However, a notable distinction emerges between the two iterations. The first generation encompasses a more confined 160-degree view, while the second generation expands this capability significantly by offering a comprehensive 360-degree angle. As a result, the second generation provides users with an immersive and panoramic perspective, ensuring no area is left unnoticed or unmonitored. This upgrade in field of view represents a significant improvement, although is reflected in the higher price point.
Both generations of the Furbo Pet Camera include night vision capabilities, enabling round-the-clock monitoring of your pets. This feature provides peace of mind to owners, especially during night-time when dogs can experience anxiety or certain health issues / behaviours can present themselves.
Talk Feature:
No products found. The Furbo Pet Camera features a two-way communication function, enabling real-time interaction with your pet. With this talk feature, not only can you hear your pet, but you can also communicate back to them using your voice. This capability provides the opportunity to soothe and calm your pet by letting them hear the comforting sound of your voice, even when you are not physically present. The two-way conversation feature fosters a sense of connection and reassurance between pet owners and their beloved companions.
Alerts:
One feature is really like on this Furbo HD Pet Camera is the barking alert function. This feature will send a push notification to your mobile phone via the Furbo app to notify your of your dogs behaviour, and allow you to calm them down. This will not only help all owners to identify potential separation anxiety, which may have gone unnoticed by the owner, but also help to reduce any neighbour complaints!
The Furbo Pet Camera also includes a person alert feature, which notifies owners when a person comes into view. This provides an added layer of security, alerting you to any potential intruders or visitors in your home.
Furbo Dog Nanny Subscription
Furbo also offer an additional Dog Nanny subscription is a service that provides enhanced features for the Furbo dog camera. It includes smart alerts, activity tracking, person detection, dog selfie alerts, cloud recording, a doggie diary, and other benefits to help users monitor and care for their pets remotely.
The Fubo subscription certainly isn’t bank-breaking at just £6.99 a month, in which you receive the following features:
| Furbo Dog Nanny Subscription Features |
| ● Smart Alerts ● Emergency Alerts (Carbon monoxide, home alerts) ● Continuous Barking Alert ● Dog Crying + Howling Alert ● Doggie Diary |
Also keep in mind that there are multiple options for subscription payment including an 2 yearly, annual or monthly subscriptions. One additional thing to consider is that but the cost per month is higher when you choose any of these shorter commitments.
Play:
The play feature of the Furbo Pet Camera allows pet owners to remotely interact and engage with their pets. Through the companion mobile app, users can dispense treats to their pets, providing entertainment, reward, and strengthening the bond between owner and pet. I really like this feature as it provides a means of promoting positive reinforcement for good behaviour and therefore reduce the likelihood of issues such as excessive barking when the owner is not home.
This feature also allows owners to provide more regular treats to their pet, which are spread out over the day. This is ideal if your dos is home along for long time periods as it prevents owners giving too many treats all at once, something we can all be very guilty of!
Power:
The Furbo Pet Camera is powered through a standard power outlet using an AC adapter. It requires a continuous connection to electricity to ensure uninterrupted operation. The only limitation is can see here, is if there is a power cut, connectivity to your pet can become interrupted, as this continuous connection is required.
Integration with Alexa:
The Furbo Pet Camera also features integration with Alexa, allowing users to control and interact with the camera using voice commands.
By connecting Furbo to their Alexa-enabled device, pet owners can use voice prompts to dispense treats, check the live video feed, or even ask Alexa to alert them when their dog is barking. This integration enhances convenience and accessibility, providing a hands-free and seamless experience for pet owners who utilize Alexa in their smart home setup.
A Veteterinary Professionals Perspective:
One key benefit of the camera from a Veterinary perspective is the ability to monitor your pet monitoring at night. Certain pathological behaviours which occur at night are regularly missed by owners, leading to a lack of intervention. A example would be in epileptic dogs having which when a seizure occurs, the alert function can detect this and allow for rapid identification, intervention and Veterinary care.
Talk function is important as separation anxiety a real issue for many pet owners. We have seen a huge increase in separation anxiety in dogs bought during the COVID 19 pandemic, as many pets had not experienced being left along for long time periods. Having this talk function can mitigate these issues and reduce risks of separation anxiety from occurring.
Having the ability to spread treats out, with the treat function can reduce the likelihood of overfeeding, hence preventing obesity. This is a common issue in todays society, which can have many negative health impacts on your pets health. Keeping your pet lean can mitigate many disease processes including but not limited to: osteoarthritis, pain, lameness and a reduced quality of life.
