Benefits of Nature’s Protection Superior Care Feed

Benefits of Nature's Protection Superior Care Feed

Nature’s Protection Superior Care is a premium quality dog food that provides a range of benefits for your furry friend. Here are some of the key benefits of this dog food:

High-Quality Ingredients

Natures protection have included high quality ingredients within this feed but one ingredient which really stood out to me is the MicrozeoGen mineral. Having done some further research into this mineral it is clear the benefits of this in supporting our dogs digestion health. Additionally, Natures Protection have also ensured all their feeds include a superior source of Omega 3 fatty acids. This is a real benefit as this fatty acid is a neutral antioxidant, which can help to prevent systemic oxidative damage and optimise your dog’s overall health and skin condition.

Provides Complete and Balanced Nutrition

Nature’s Protection feed is a well-rounded food source that offers a balanced and complete nutritional profile to meet all your dog’s dietary needs. One of the benefits of feeding a complete food source is that it can be fed as the sole food, which makes feeding times much simpler for pet owners. This eliminates the need to supplement with other sources of food, making the feeding process more convenient and hassle-free.

Wide Range of Flavours

Nature’s Protection feed offers a wide range of flavours to cater to different taste preferences and dietary needs. Some of the popular flavours include lamb, white fish (with krill), and salmon.

The lamb flavour is a great option for dogs with sensitivities or allergies to other types of meat. It’s a high-quality protein source that provides essential amino acids for muscle growth and repair. The lamb flavour is also rich in vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin B12 and iron, which are important for maintaining healthy blood cells and energy levels.

The white fish with krill flavour is a unique option that provides omega-3 fatty acids from krill oil, which can help support healthy skin and coat. The white fish itself is a lean protein source that’s easy to digest, making it a great choice for dogs with sensitive stomachs. This flavour is also free from common allergens like chicken and beef, making it a good option for dogs with food sensitivities.

Another key advantage of the white fish flavour is that due to being a lower calorie option it is perfect for dogs suffering with obesity, or for owners who struggle to assist their pet in loosing weight. This feed therefore will not only help your pet to lose weight but also improve their overall quality of life and prevent long term negative health impacts such as arthritis.

The salmon flavour is another popular choice that’s rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for brain development and cognitive function. Salmon is also a good source of protein and essential amino acids, as well as vitamins and minerals like vitamin D and selenium. This flavour is a great option for dogs with joint issues or skin problems, as the omega-3s can help reduce inflammation and improve skin and coat health.

Tear Stains Off

Tear stains are a common issue in small white breeds, and Nature’s Protection feed claims to prevent their development. This is due to the careful selection of protein sources whilst still providing a complete source of nutrition that offers a balanced and complete profile to meet all of your dog’s dietary needs.

Promotes Healthy Skin and Coat

Nature’s Protection superior feed contains a range of ingredients that are beneficial for your dog’s skin and coat. The food is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which can help to reduce inflammation and promote healthy skin and a shiny coat. Maintaining a healthy coat condition is very important not only for visual aspects but also to prevent certain skin conditions developing such as itching (puritis), hair loss (alopecia) and inflammation of the skin (dermatitis).

Does it Really Prevent Tear Stains – My Personal Opinion?

Having used this feed for over 1 year with my own dog I have noticed slight to moderate improvement in her tear stains, although they have not fully disappeared as claimed by the company, which is slightly disappointing. Saying this though I have noticed a great improvement in her coat quality, thickness and shine, likely down to the high-quality sources of omega 3 fatty acids.

Feeding Volume and Palatability

One of the benefits of Nature’s Protection food is that it provides a feeding guide to help pet owners determine how much to feed their dogs. This ensures that dogs receive the appropriate amount of nutrition and can help prevent overfeeding, which can lead to obesity and other health problems. The feeding guide is based on the dog’s body weight, which can be obtained easily at home or at a local veterinary practice.

It is important to note that this feeding guide is only a recommendation and will need to be adjusted/ tailored by the owners based on their dogs’ individual requirements. Certain factors which will impact the feeding volume include activity levels, age, and breed. For more in-depth feeding information and guidance please see my guide on Understanding Your Dog’s Nutritional Needs.

Personally, I have tried both the white fish (with Krill) and salmon flavour with my own dog and have had no issues with palatability. She has thoroughly enjoyed both flavours, her feeding bowl is always licked clean, which is a testament to the great taste provided from the Natures Protection brand.

Dry Feed vs Wet Feed

Nature’s Protection Superior Care food is a dry kibble-based dog food, which has both advantages and disadvantages when compared to wet-based feeds. To help you decide if this dry feed is right for your dog, here are some pros and cons of dry-based feeds.

Pros of Dry Feed (kibble) Cons of Dry Feed (kibble)
Promotes dental health: Reducing plaque and tartar build up Lower moisture content
Easier to store and handle Reduced palatability
Longer shelf life Less appropriate for dogs with dental pain & dental disease.
Cost-effective: Dry dog food is generally less expensive than wet dog food Digestibility: Some dogs struggle to digest dry kibble feed.

Tips for Safely Transitioning Your Dog to a New Food

Tips for Safely Transitioning Your Dog to a New Food

If you’re thinking about changing your dog’s food to the Nature’s Protection Superior Care – White Dogs Dry Food based on our review, it’s important to do so gradually. Abruptly changing your dog’s food can cause digestive upset, such as vomiting or diarrhoea. To safely transition your dog to a new food, start by mixing a small amount of the new food with their current food and gradually increasing the ratio of the new food over the course of a week or two. This allows your dog’s digestive system to adjust to the new food more easily, a process we call weaning.

Additionally, it’s important monitor more closely when making any changes to your dog’s diet. Some key symptoms to watch out for include vomiting, diarrhoea, weight loss or altered feeding behaviour. If you observe any of these symptoms in your dog, it is crucial to discontinue feeding the new food immediately and seek advice from your local Vet without delay.
